Dustin Johnson won the 2020 Masters and set a scoring precedent at 20-under standard, two strokes in a way that is better than the record, held mutually by Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth. Johnson, who grew up an hour from Augusta National Golf Course in Columbia, S.C., turned into the principal world No. 1 to win the occasion since Woods in 2002.

He completed five strokes in front of Sungjae Im of South Korea and the Australian golf player Cameron Smith, who turned into the principal major part in the 84-year history of the Masters to post four rounds during the 60s.

"It's a blessing from heaven. As a child I generally envisioned about being a Masters champion," Johnson stated, stopping to hold back tears.

"It's simply fantastic."

Johnson, who got done with a last cycle 68 on Sunday, was first complimented by his sibling, Austin, who has been on his pack since 2013. Their coordinated effort started as a songbird, with Dustin employing his sibling for competitions in Australia and China so his standard caddie, Bobby Brown, could be at home for the introduction of his kid.

"The greatest thing about being a caddie is knowing your player, realizing what to state to them, what not to state or when to disregard them and not utter a word," Johnson revealed to The New York Times in 2017. "Nobody knows me better than my sibling."

They are the third golf player caddie blending of relatives to win the Masters. Jack Nicklaus and his child, Jack Nicklaus II, were the first in 1986; Patrick Reed and his brother by marriage Kessler Karain continued in 2018. Johnson spent a lot of a month ago separating in a lodging for 11 days after a positive Covid test result.

"Simply laying around, sort of sitting idle," he said of his ordered break in late October. He played in just a single occasion toward the beginning of November after his cutback, completing in a tie for second at the Houston Open.

It was Johnson's first success at the Masters, where he had recently completed in the main 10 in his last four beginnings. With the triumph, he finished a frustrating dash of neglecting to win any of four significant titles wherein he had held the 54-opening lead. It happened most as of late at the P.G.A. Title in August, when he tied for second behind Collin Morikawa.
